You will need to get away from the town of Forks and push into the swamps and reprod areas, and there is a ton of land for Elk hunting. For the first 4 days I was going to alternate morning, afternoon, and evening strategies (calling, still hunt, ambush, etc.). For example, I would do a lot of bugling and calling morning 1. Mid July seems to be about the time you can actually get anywhere on the higher trail systems. I've both hiked and hunted quite a bit of the 560 GMU including both wilderness areas discussed above. Not as many elk as there used to be but are there some are huntable elk.
