QYLD, RYLD, XYLD, NUSI pay dividends as mostly return of capital (ROC). DIVO pays about 75% of the dividends as ROC. ETV, BST, and BSTZ are CEFs that is mostly ROC as well. What about JEPI? Couldn't find it in their site as there are no 19(A) docs available - maybe, I didn't look at it properly.

I don’t know about jepi but with QYLD/Ryld 80% of my dividends for 2022 was Return of Capital so I only had 20% taxable as ordinary taxes. To me that’s a great advantage if jepi doesn’t use roc.
