As of now they have 2.19 intake and 1.76 exhaust valves and the are going a .030 over 460 with a 4.300 stroke with 11 to 1 in it and the cam is a 254... The heads are DOVE C and I know they are '70 Lincoln heads, so I am hoping the block is a DOVE A. Please reassure me that I am making a good decision. I hear that the only good block is a D1VE-A because the casting is stronger than any other year??? In 72 they changed the metal and detuned the cars due to SAE emissions regs.These two reasons alone make it obvious why Ford returned to the closed chamber head with the introduction of the D3VE. The D3VE's chamber CC is very close to that of the D2VE's chamber (keeps compresison ratio down), but the shape makes for both a better mixture motion and a shorter flame travel. If you are running the Dove-C standard exhaust port headers it will hurt you a little. If it is both you are probably loosing a good chunk of power off the new heads. There is another kit for the d0ve and CJ. It has the rail rocker, ball and nut and the number is 214-1154. The rail rocker may cause problems as the rail may come in contact with the spring retainer.
