I removed the skid pan and found a tube that was coming out of the engine that was leaking. If you look at the module with the terminals pointing down, the two on the left go to the pickup coil (black and blue on my '86).

It's probably the spring loaded gear selector fork under the shifter assy behind the rear head. it's VERY easy for one side of that spring mechanism to fall off when assembling. this way you don't get a full throw when putting it in gear with the hand shifter.Curious what you find out. On my 2000 400 it would become very difficult to shift in cold weather, esp if running thru snow. I removed the gearshift lever and housing it is attached to and disassembled it. The grease was very used up so i cleaned it out and regreased it.Thanks. my left hand brake switch was shorted to ground causing the same 30 amp fuse to blow, so make sure to check the switch as well as replacing the harness. be patient when disconnecting connectors they can become quite brittle.
