The problem with using a 400 crank in a 351w is that you have to cut the counter weights down to fit the block. They are a nightmare to balance when this is done because they require heavy metal added. Also you need a longer rod, so whats normaly done is they cut the crank for the chevy 2.1" journal or the older 327 2.0" journal.

I want to use a crank out of a 400. I want to reuse my 5.78" Cleveland rods. I realize I would need to have the mains turned down to 2.75.
