Started the year with two goals: Switch to paper books and read 20 pages a day. Ended up with something closer to 30 a day and started targeting 30 finished books for this year, which i just hit today. Big old stack of books. Anyway, here's the list. Those are some I consider essential reads for lessons on life. For just an enjoyable read, I'd recommend picking what they haven't read from the Classics genre. They're favorites in our house to read both together and apart. First on the list is "Kid Engineer: Intro to Engineering" by Marc Chamberlain. This book is an excellent introduction to engineering and science for kids. It explores basic engineering concepts in an engaging and kid-friendly manner. The only Forgotten Realms books I've read that pass for "normal" fantasy is the Brimstone Angels series by Erin M. Evans, and maybe the Dark Elf trilogy (but I assume you've read that one)..
