Also, if it's an official launcher from the official site, having an auto-login functionality isn't a security concern at all.

Because a ton of the hate directed at Jagex is directed at mods or other people who have absolutely no control over the mtx situation (people that most likely feel the way the players do). The mtx hate train should continue until change happens, but WHERE that hate is directed and HOW it is communicated is just as important. People who play and still consistently hate on Jagex probably still want the game to live for as long as possible because clearly the game is something they're so passionate about.
