It feels like I get conflicting opinions everywhere I look. r/premed and SDN recommend finding like-minded premed students to do “swaps” and completely avoiding coaching or editing services. I just read Dr. Ryan Grey’s PS book and he said to avoid swaps and use a coaching/editing service (his own is like $500-5k 💀).

Do NOT get discouraged by this subreddit or SDN. I've seen some people expressing that this sub and SDN have been kinda discouraging. I felt the exact same way and thus wanted to provide a little bit of advice. R/premed and SDN are extremely useful when you're getting tips, learning different ECs to do, how to strengthen your app etc. The problem with SDN is that they have a handful of trolly users with poor social skills who shit up the site with their never-ending navelgazing, but the advice and information is generally a LOT more reliable than some of the information I find on r/premed.
