Mob's character development feels very real. In the beginning of season 1, he's introduced as a standard, socially awkward school boy with psychic powers. Traumatized by the incident, where in he ends up loosing control and hurting his little brother, he starts hating his powers. So he subconsciously decides not to use 'em.During this whole ordeal, Shigeo believed his powers helped him in every situation, from exorcising spirits to fighting claw. The only time that Mob didn't need his powers, heck it was actually a hindrance, was his confrontation with Dimple. Bringing Dimple back proved to Shigeo that there was a use for the powerless Mob and the esper Shigeo. I don't know, I think only you can answer that. Personally, I like to watch depressing anime when I'm depressed, like Evangelion because it makes me feel like someone understands. Other people like happy anime to cheer them up, idk. Mob Psycho can get really light and fun but it can also get pretty dark, so take that how you will.One Punch Man just focuses on the tropes of action anime with great action and stuff while Mob Psycho is more story based.
