M3 here who used to be a scribe that used epic: Dot phrases are stupid fast. There are wacky things you can do like making entire notes out of drop down selections. I made a note template for one of the colorectal surgery attendings that was basically pre-filled with all the "fluff" and you just had to f2 spam to fill in imaging, labs, a&p, etc.
