After using them as steps for a while they deformed the car body sheet metal they are mounted to in such a way that the rails started to sag a little bit. Also they got pretty rusty after only 2 years.

When the engine first comes on, it will run in series hybrid mode where it idles around 1500 rpm and loads the engine up with the generator to preheat the catalytic converter. It is noisier when doing this.
