To this day the humble Cane remains my favorite weapon. It is hugely versatile. At +10 (possibly before) you'll end up with an A in skill scaling. It whip form has serrated damage, decent range and wide area of attack. In cane forum it has righteous damage, speed, the thrust attack can stagger many enemies, and is useful in tight spots.
