Here's the setup: Each Ore Extractor T3 can mine a single resource in 1.25 minutes (75 seconds). Methane take 5 seconds longer but we'll assume 75 seconds for consistency. On average, a Drone T2 requires 2 minutes (120 seconds) to acquire and deliver the resource to the Auto-Crafter.After a while the algae stops growing at all. I think the autocrafter is picking the algae without lowering the amount the algae generator thinks it has on it, causing it not to grow more. For the auto-crafter, I extended a 2x2 building out over the lake , and then placed the algae generator and 2 water collectors in the water under the 2x2. So far I placed the Auto Crafter and arranged all resource storage boxes in range around it (even Overflow boxes). T3 extractors are close by. Same for gas collectors (methane). Base is right beside a deep pond for algae collector. All in all it runs pretty smooth but there's still a lot of running around.
