I’ve played through at least 10 times (with different characters - currently I’m trying to beat the final boss on NG 6 and that’s the highest NG I’ve ever gotten to). I’ve never heard anyone suggest/rave about the sacred relic sword for any situation. Doesn’t mean it’s not good, but it certainly isn’t a common staple for players.
