I luckily found an interview slot for 10 days after I was approved. So after getting down to the Atlanta airport location, I actually had to give my passport at the check in counter. Then the CBP officer gave it back, after the biometrics, with a little Global entry booklet in it. Got the approval email 20 minutes after the interview.
