I'm looking at buying a Ideapad Flex 5 16" laptop (2022 model). A lot of reviews I've found about the Ideapad Flex 2-in-1 laptops from 2020-2021 mention that the screen hinges fail within a few months to 1 year, often resulting in the screen cracking. Also apparently it's not covered under warranty.

I've had an Ideapad that developed a hinge problem ripping the case near the hinge and their technician won't warranty it since they concluded that it falls under regular wear and tear and not a manufacturing defect. Also we have 3 thinkpads in the office that had the same hinge issue. What's common with those Lenovo laptops have all plastic build.
