The TRD supercharger kit, designed and manufactured by Magnuson Products from the basic Eaton M62 Generation IV· supercharger, was only available for the earlier 1MZ-FE engine. With the original drive pulley size, it produced 5 psi in the 3.0 liter engine, but required about 35 hp to drive it.

Through my engine builder's and my evaluations on the 1MZ-FE block, we think that the sleeves on the 1MZ-FE block are actually pretty strong. It has a closed deck design and has thick sleeves (at stock bore) that are plenty for making great power. The 1MZ-FE also has a very friendly rod-to-stroke ratio which results in a slow piston speed.

Nice car, fun in it's own way, but the driving experience an MR2 provides is vastly more entertaining. With the 1mz/3mz hybrid motor (headers, intake exhaust,pulleys) i ran a 14.3 at 96.5mph in a 1997 camry! A 4psi TRD s/c camry would be hard pressed to hit a 14.8 with those mods. Def. worth the investment to me.
